Bylaws, permits, and forms

Animal Control Bylaw 

Our Animal Control Bylaw can be found below. Licenses are due by Feb 15th of each year. Owners will be ticketed for various offences including animals running at large, excessive barking, unlicensed pets, etc. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the bylaw if applicable.


Animal registration fees:

  • for non-restricted sterilized dogs (Section 3): $10.00 per dog per year
  • for non-restricted non-sterilized dogs (Section 3): $20.00 per dog per year
  • for non-sterilized restricted dogs (Section 3): $50.00 per dog per year  
  • for sterilized restricted dogs (Section 3): $25.00 per dog per year  
  • for sterilized cats: $10.00 per cat per year  
  • for non-sterilized cats (Section 3): $15.00 per cat per year  
  • for working guide dog (Section 3): $5.00 per dog per year  
  • for deemed dangerous $1000.00 per animal per year 


Fire Pits 

Fire pits are allowed in the village provided they are inspected. Contact the village office for your free permit to use an approved fire pit. Note: burning of anything other than cut seasoned wood is strictly prohibited. Please see the firepit bylaw document below for specific information on what is allowed.
